Obituary of Manny Schwartz
Manny Schwartz, 94, of Manchester, passed away at his home on January 14, 2025. Manny was born in Poland and immigrated to the United States after surviving the Holocaust as a child.
After reaching the U.S., he lived in Brooklyn, where he met his wife of 60 years and had two children. They moved from Brooklyn, NY, to Lakewood, NJ, in 1974 before moving to Manchester, NJ, in 2009.
Manny was a loving husband, proud parent and grandpa, and a devoted friend. He was also a business owner and proud veteran of the U.S.Army. He had a generous smile and infectious sense of humor and will be missed dearly.
An ordinary man could live 100 lifetimes and fail to endure the trials and tribulations set before him, let alone walk away with a smile.
Manny is predeceased by his parents, Chaim and Chaja Schwartz, and Brothers, Boris and Morris Schwartz: Wife Barbara K Schwartz and son Lawrence (Larry).
He is survived by his daughter Ellen, son-in-law Paul, grandchildren Paul Justin and Jake Tyler, and special companion Gloria Delarata.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 10 a.m., at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel. The interment will be private. Shiva will be observed at the family home in Manchester. Memorial contributions in Manny’s memory to The Fisher House Foundation or The Blue Card charities would be kind.
