Obituary of Isabel B. Goldfarb
In Loving Memory of Isabel Goldfarb
Isabel, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on
December 6, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 84 years old.
Born on February 2, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York, Isabel brought warmth, humor, and
determination to everything she did. As a paraprofessional and then a teacher in the New York
City Public Schools, she balanced her many roles with grace and purpose, always placing her
family at the heart of her life.
Isabel met her husband, Victor, in 1961 when their respective Aunts decided the two would
make a wonderful match. Together, they built a life rooted in love and partnership. Their 63 years
of marriage were marked by the deepest friendship, laughter, shared adventures, and an
unwavering commitment to one another.
As a mother, Isabel was a guiding light for her three sons, teaching them the value of effort,
resilience, and the joy of small, meaningful moments. As a grandmother, she created countless
treasured memories with her seven grandchildren, who loved her deeply for her unlimited support
and affection.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Vic, and her three sons, Robert (Ruth), Larry, and Brett (Abby).
Her seven grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Heather, Holly, Hannah, Maia, and Samuel. As well as a
community of friends and neighbors who will deeply miss her presence. Her strength, generosity,
and quiet wisdom will remain an enduring legacy to those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Isabel’s life will be held at graveside Sunday, December 8, in Woodbridge, New
Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to two causes for
which she felt a deep passion: Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America, or the
American Diabetes Association.
While her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, may her memory be a blessing to those
who knew her, and inspire us to live with the same love, dignity, and purpose she exemplified.
