Obituary of Abe Gindoff
ABE GINDOFF (October 24, 1922 - January 11, 2023) After a joyous and well spent life, Abe Gindoff (100) passed away on January 11, 2023 surrounded by his loving children, Dr. Stuart “Skip” of Sarasota, FL and Jacqueline Aufseeser of Wayside, NJ. His wife of 75+ years, Rosalyn Stein Gindoff, died at Jersey Shore Medical Center 12 hours later.
Abe, son of Hyman and Mamie Gindoff, married Rosalyn Stein on April 20, 1947 in Lakewood, NJ, and the couple lived on a chicken farm operated by Rosalyn’s parents (Jacob and Ida Stein) in Jackson, New Jersey where they raised their children. After the farm closed, Abe studied to learn electrical engineering and worked for Frequency Engineering Laboratories, in Farmingdale, NJ. The family moved to a new home in Lakewood where they lived for over 50 years. Eventually upon leaving Frequency, he created his own company known as Empire Manufacturing and Assembly in Lakewood, NJ. He was predeceased by his siblings Sam, Louis, Max, Jennette (Franklin), Freda (Pevovar), and Bernard.
Abe was a private pilot since he was 16 years old. Serving honorably in the US Army during WWII, he was a radio operator and participated in the Battle of the Bulge among other military actions. He was awarded a Bronze Star and the French National Order of the Legion of Honor for his service. He was a Ham Radio operator (N2IBJ).
Abe is survived by his son: Dr. Stuart “Skip” and his wife, Nancy, along with his grandchildren, Keith, Scott (Dr. Kelly), Amy, and Julie (Steve Yenisch) and his great-grandchildren Tyler, Haven, Alexis, Bryce, Ryker, Reagan, and Reid. Also surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline (Jackie) and Dr. Les Aufseeser and his grandchildren, Robert (Liat), Glenn (Jessica), Paige (Dr. Alan Guy), and Andrew along with his greatgrandchildren Ilana, Daniella, Nathan, Jonah, Spencer, and Aubrey.
