Obituary of Shirley Schoenfeld

Shirley Schoenfeld, 91, of Lakewood died May 17, 2022 at her home.  She was born in Bronx, NY and lived in Lakewood since 1950.  Shirley worked at her husband’s family business, the New Irvington Hotel, and prior to retirement, was a secretary for the Lakewood Board of Education.  She was a past member of Congregation Sons of Israel, Lakewood and Hadassah.

Predeceased by her husband, Charles (2016) and son, Alex (2013); she is survived by son, Bruce of Lakewood; daughter, Jeni Statkus and husband, Bronius of Lakewood; daughter, Randi Polinski and husband, Steven of East Brunswick; brother, Arnold Bemben of Manchester; sister, Lorrain Greenspan of City Island, NY; and grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Elizabeth and Gabriela.

Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00am Friday, May 20, 2022 at Mount Sinai Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ.  Donations in Shirley’s honor may be made to the Lakewood First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 644, Lakewood, NJ 08701 or a Charity of Choice.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood, NJ.
