Obituary of Dr. Alan R. Zbik
Dr. Alan Zbik was a brilliant compassionate physician. He was born in Philadelphia. PA and was a dedicated Eagles and Flyers fan.
He attended the University of Pennsylvania for his undergraduate education as a double major in Mathematics and Biology. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was elected into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society for Academic excellence. Subsequently, he attended the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and graduated with Honors.
His residency in Internal Medicine was completed at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He met his wife Dr. Cynthia Vona when he was a senior resident and she was an intern. They have one child, Samantha, who was the joy of his life.
He practiced Internal Medicine for more than 25 years, initially in solo practice in Manalapan, NJ, then at CHEMED in Lakewood, NJ.
He was on staff at CentraState Hospital in Freehold, NJ. His diagnostic acumen was exemplary as well as his kindness and compassion for all of his patients. He believed that excellent healthcare was a right that should be granted to all.
He will be missed by all, especially his wife Cynthia and his daughter Samantha.
