I am so sorry for your loss. I have known this family just about all my life and feel like I lost a family member too. Sheldon will truly be missed. My thoughts are with everyone during this extremely difficult time.

I was able to speak at my grandfathers funeral. I wanted to share what I said:
The last couple nights I can’t go to sleep without singing in my head Duvid Crockett by Micky Katz, which was a song grandpa would play in the car. Then it made me start thinking about the little quirks grandpa had. He had many many many big quirks, but I was thinking about the ones I’m going to miss. When we would watch movies he would name every actor. How he would write the date and name of people in the pictures on the back. When he would eat something he found delicious he would say I haven’t had that or whatever it was in years...yet we just had it the week before. How he would send you a card for literally ever occasion. How any conversation he had he talked in a teaching manner and always gave facts and information about the topic. His utter generosity even though he came from a very non loving and caring home life.
I tried to convince him many times to stop looking in the past and find love in the life he lived now. Marrying the most wonderful women in the world and finding family through that. Having children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sheldon Rosenspan struggled through life a lot but he built a wonderful life for the people around him and I am very proud to have been his granddaughter.

I am overwhelmed by the number of people who have shared stories, photographs, and their love and appreciation for my father on FaceBook and through e-mail. He touched so many lives and left such a legacy of warmth and caring. I'm sorry he didn't get to see or feel this while he was still alive - he would have been delighted. Thank you all so much.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. I only met Sheldon once at the wedding of his granddaughter and he was a kind and caring person. He said that in the end, all religions are very much the same in their goals. He was a wise man. My prayers are with the family.

Sheldon was always there for me for as long as I have been a part of this family, and he always treated me just like one of his own grandchildren. He was such a smart, caring, and loving person whose generosity and meshugas knew no bounds.
The joy in his eyes when seeing a baby or young child, especially when it was his own great grandchildren, was as pure as anything in this world. And I know that is just how he felt about all of us that surrounded him. He will be missed more than words can say.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. I wish to extend my family's deepest sympathies to yours. My mother, sister and I had the privilege of meeting Sheldon at the wedding of Ant and Rachel. I did not get to know him well in that short time, but it was obvious that Sheldon was a good person who was well loved by his friends and family. He will be sorely missed.
