Obituary of Lawrence J Sawyer

Lawrence J. Sawyer, 75, of Randolph, NJ and Stuart, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Sioux Falls, SD, Larry grew up in Howell, NJ, and attended Freehold Regional High School.

He graduated from Rider University in 1965 and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Larry founded Eastern Insulation Corporation in 1974 and served as its’ CEO until his retirement in 2001. Starting with one truck Larry built the foundation for what would become one of the largest insulation contracting companies in the northeast.

Larry enjoyed traveling, golf, reading, working out at the gym, and spending time with his family and friends.  He also enjoyed spending time in Florida with his many friends away from the NJ winters.  Larry was a member of the Rockaway River Country Club where he was a fixture on the golf course and shot a hole in one in 2018.

Predeceased by his parents, Alex and Helen Sawyer, Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Natalie Deutch Sawyer; Sons, Peter and his wife Kathleen of Middletown, DE, Todd and his wife Keri of Randolph, NJ; Brother, Robert and his wife Darlene of Manalapan, NJ; Sister, Debby Davis and her husband Stephen of Augusta, GA; Mother-in-law, Norma Weissberg of Brick NJ; Brother-in-law, Stewart Deutch of Lakewood, NJ; Grandchildren, Jillian, Jessica, Blake, Alexa, Devan, Ava, and Matthew.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, May 10, at Beth Am Shalom 1235 NJ-70, Lakewood, NJ with interment to follow at Beth Olam Memorial Park.
