Obituary of Barbara S. Baggett-Cornblatt

Barbara S. Baggett Esq.; 71, of Brick died Monday, October 12, 2015 after a brave fight against lung cancer. Born in Chicago, IL, Barbara was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After a brief teaching career in Los Angeles, she became a resident of Ocean County in 1969. Barbara received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. While working as a social worker for DYFS, Barbara attended Widener School of Law in Delaware and received her Juris Doctorate in 1977. In 1979, Barbara began her private practice in Brick, NJ. She was a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, the Ocean County Bar Association, the Ocean County Family Law Committee, the Ocean-Monmouth Family Inns of Court, Ocean County Matrimonial Early Settlement Program and the NJ Association of Professional Mediators. She was also involved with the inception of the Conditional Release Program in Brick and the initial Chapter of Parents Anonymous in Camden. Barbara is survived by her husband, Alan J. Cornblatt; her stepchildren, Wendy Young of Hainesport; Larry Cornblatt of Vermont and Richard Kravchack of West Virginia; and grandchildren, Coty and Mia. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Beth Am Shalom, 1235 Rt 70 W., Lakewood NJ 08701. Interment will follow at Beth Olam Memorial Park, Lakewood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Barbara S. Baggett to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Rt 34 Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
