Obituary of Arnold David Mohel

Arnold David Mohel, 93, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away Tuesday June 19, 2018 at his home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Arnold moved to Lakewood as a young child and has been a lifelong resident. Arnold served in the US Army during WWII and is a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient. He was a certified public accountant and was a partner with the accounting firm of Mohel, Elliott, Bauer and Gass CPAs PA, based in Lakewood, until his retirement in 1996. He was Vice Chairman of the board of Garden State Bank, a past president of the Lakewood Board of Education, past chairman of the Lakewood Zoning Board, member of the board of TCNJ, The College of NJ, member of the board of the NJ Society of CPAs and past president of the Monmouth/Ocean Chapter of CPAs, past president of the Lakewood Lions Club, past president of the Paul Kimball Hospital Auxiliary, member of the Lakewood Elks and numerous other local charitable organizations. Arnold is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lorraine; sons, Mike of Ft. Myers, FL, Robert and his wife Cathleen of Toms River, NJ, Karl and his wife Lisa of Berkley Twp., NJ, and his grandchildren, David and his wife Sara, Sidney and Jacob. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, June 20 at Mount Sinai Cemetery in Lakewood, NJ. Memorial contributions in Arnold’s memory may be directed to Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org).
