Obituary of Rabbi Stanley Yedwab

Rabbi Stanley Yedwab, 86, died February 20, 2017 at his home in Bellevue, WA. Rabbi Yedwab was a crusader for civil rights, and an immigration activist, as well as a gifted therapist, teacher, and preacher. He served at Temple Beth Am, Lakewood, NJ for 39 years before his retirement in 1998. As his intellect receded toward the end of his life and his memory virtually disappeared, somehow, miraculously, his wisdom and kindness remained. He was a remarkable man. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Myra; he is survived by his son, Rabbi Paul Yedwab and his wife, Wendy; daughter, Laura Yedwab and her husband, Daniel Weise; and grandchildren Ariella, Jesse, Zoe, and Nathan. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Beth Am Shalom, 1235 Route 70, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Interment will follow at Beth Olam Memorial Park, Lakewood, NJ. Donations in Rabbi Stanley Yedwab’s honor may be made to The Wendy and Rabbi Paul Yedwab Youth Enrichment Fund, Temple Israel, 5725 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield, MI 48323. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood, NJ.
