Obituary of Dorothy R. Mininsohn

Dorothy Mininsohn, age 100, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Lakewood, New Jersey, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 22, 1925, in the Bronx, New York. She was the daughter of Charlotte and Benjamin Shapiro. She lived a remarkable life of strength, kindness, and devotion to family. She witnessed enormous changes and events in the world during her lifetime and met each season of life with dignity, grace, and resilience. Her innate wisdom, gentle humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jess Mininsohn, son David Mininsohn, brother Julian Shapiro, parents Charlotte and Benjamin Shapiro, and great-grandson Tal Levy.  Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Eileen (Stan) Liptzin and Roberta (Ross) Buck. Grandchildren Shari (Barry) Rosenblum, Debi (Les) Rothenberg, Scott (Meredith) Liptzin, Heather (Joe) Keith, and David Buck. In addition, she is survived by twelve great-grandchildren, Amanda (Aaron) Rotkel, Michael Rosenblum, Paul Rosenblum, Jason (Krysta) Rosenblum, Arielle Levy, Jess Liptzin, Ethan Liptzin, Sydnie Liptzin, Chase Edmundsen, Jacob Keith, Calleigh Keith, Isabella Buck, and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Beth Am Shalom, 1:00 PM, Route 70, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Shiva services will be held at Eileen Liptzin’s house, Monday (12/29), Tuesday (12/30), and Wednesday (12/31) at 6:00 pm.
