Obituary of Eric A. Goldberg
In Loving Memory of Eric A. Goldberg
Lakewood, New Jersey
Eric A. Goldberg, 73, of Lakewood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 25th.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Eric was proud of his roots. He was a graduate of
the University of Buffalo and went on to earn his Master’s Degree from Duquesne
University. Throughout his distinguished career, Eric devoted himself to serving individuals
with developmental disabilities, holding leadership roles as Executive Director at nonprofit
organizations in New York City, NY, Leonardtown, Maryland, and Birmingham, Alabama.
A lifelong learner, Eric was an avid reader with a deep love for philosophy, history, and his
Jewish heritage. His passion for knowledge was matched only by his enthusiasm for his
favorite sports teams—the New York Mets and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Known for his
quick wit and playful spirit, Eric brought warmth and laughter to everyone he met and
remained a loyal friend to many throughout his life.
Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Harriet Westbrook-Goldberg; his son, Aaron Goldberg,
and daughter-in-law, Kristina Bonatakis-Goldberg; and his cherished cat, Mendel Goldberg.
He is also survived by his dear cousins Eileen Frankel (Jules), Stevie Kay (Sandra), Anita
Kozakewicz (Raymond), and Nancy Hersh (Itzhak); his mother-in-law Jettie Westbrook;
sisters-in-law Marilyn Huggins (Kerry), Carolyn Westbrook, and Sonya Wormley (Randall);
brother-in-law Harold Westbrook, Jr.; and six nieces and nephews.
Eric will be lovingly remembered by his lifelong friends Mark Benson (Rose), Chris Quirin
(Patrice), Michael Mudd (Barbara), Iran Buckler (Yurry), Daniel Gordon (Brittany), Gregg
Fuchs (Jennifer), Rona Fuchs, Avi Schnall, and Meir Lichtenstein, along with many other
cherished friends and extended family. Eric is predeceased by his loving parents Herbert &
Roslyn Goldberg and his beloved cat, Harvey Goldberg.
May Eric’s memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Concorde Healthcare and its dedicated staff,
