Obituary of Ana Finkelstein
Ana Finkelstein (nee’ Weinstein), of Rockleigh, NJ, passed away at the age of 90, peacefully on August 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 19, 1935, in San José, Costa Rica, to Yocheved and Herman Weinstein, Ana emigrated to New York and grew up in Jackson, New Jersey, where her family settled. She built a long and dedicated career as a bookkeeper and office manager for various businesses, including Belkoff Goldstein Funeral Chapel.
Ana was an active and devoted member of her Jewish Lakewood community and Dov V’ Shmuel Synagogue. She was known for her infectious laugh, her generous spirit, and her remarkable work ethic, retiring at the age of 80. She found joy in family celebrations, Jewish holidays, concerts, theatre, and travel.
She was predeceased by her husband, Murray Finkelstein, and is survived by her children, Rubi Fingeret and her husband Michael Bacon, and Sandra Finkelstein and her spouse Kenneth Abel; her grandchildren, Sam Fingeret, Margo Fingeret, and Mali Abel. Ana was also lucky to find a partner later in life, Paul Brottman.
Funeral services will be held on August 13, 2025, at 1 pm at Belkoff Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood, NJ, followed by burial at the Freehold Hebrew Benefit Society Cemetery in Freehold, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Jewish Home Foundation at
