Obituary of Janet C. Feingold

In Loving Memory: Janet Carol (Krouse) Feingold Age 88 – Jackson, NJ Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 11, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Janet spent her first 30 years in the city before settling in Manalapan and later Jackson, NJ. A proud graduate of Tilden High School and Brooklyn College, she began her professional journey as a social worker, dedicating her life to caring for others.

In 1958, Janet married the love of her life, Mickey Feingold, after meeting on a blind date. Together, they built a home overflowing with love, laughter, and meaningful memories. Her greatest joy was being a mother to their three children, whom she cherished and nurtured with boundless love and pride.

Janet found her calling as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher, serving the Manalapan-Englishtown School District for 30 years. Her impact as an educator extended beyond the classroom—she was a lifelong teacher and mentor who saw every moment as an opportunity to learn and grow.

She cultivated deep, lasting friendships that enriched her life, and each friend held a special place in her heart. Janet had a passion for music and often played the piano for her children and students. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, listening to music, and playing Mahjong—a game she joyfully taught others in her retirement community. Janet also had a love for travel and documented her adventures in cherished photo albums filled with memories and stories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Roberta Krouse, and is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Mickey. Janet's legacy lives on through her children: Jay Feingold (Leah), Mitch Feingold (Kim), and Fern Zinkoski (Craig); her grandchildren: Adam (Aimee), Jeremy (Dominique Johnson), Tyler (Rachel Hendrzak), Alyssa, Jesse Zinkoski (Christine), Brian McLane, Brittany Leak (Nyesha); and sweet adorable great-grandchildren: Andrew and Ariana Feingold, Violet and Colt Zinkoski.

Janet is also survived by her brother, Harold Krouse, and sister-in-law, Crin (Carolyn) Krouse, along with her nieces, nephew, and many treasured friends.

Her memory will live on in the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her hospice caregivers for their compassionate support. May her memory be a blessing!
