

Obituary of Joan H. Lang
Lang, Joan H., of Jackson, NJ, lost her courageous battle with breast cancer on March 18, 2025, at the age of 84 years young. She was born on Aug. 13, 1940, in Newark, graduated from Weequahic HS in 1958 and Montclair University in 1962 with a B.A. in French Education. Joan worked briefly as a high school French teacher in New Providence, NJ, before leaving in 1964 to start a family. In the early 1980s, she worked several office jobs before landing a position at AT&T Bell Labs / Lucent Technologies, where she spent many years. Joan was a devoted and loving wife, a caring and supportive mother, a kind and generous grandmother and aunt, and a loyal and considerate friend. Her husband, family, and friends meant the world to her. Joan also loved to travel and was a huge fan of musicals, detective fiction, puzzles, and movies. Joan is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Charles, her children Ken (Elisa), Andrea (Tom) Canning, and Brian (Laura), and eight grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sisters Rhoda, Dorothy, and Helen, and her brother Harvey.
