Obituary of Beatrice Fund

On February 25, 2025 we lost our beloved aunt, Beatrice Fund, who passed away at
age 90 after a courageous three-year battle with ovarian cancer. Beatrice touched so
many during her lifetime with her smile, presence and loyalty to family and lifelong
friends. Her caring and thoughtful soul will be deeply missed.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Samuel and Anna Sheletsky on June 27, 1934.
Bea (as she loved to be called) was the youngest of four sisters and attended Eastern
District High School. Soon after graduation Bea began her career at the International
Ladies Garment Workers Union in New York City where she retired as Executive
Assistant to the President. After retirement she would volunteer her time at election poll
sites throughout Brooklyn.

While residing in Brooklyn she spent her summers at Brighton Beach Bay 2 enjoying the
beach during the day and attending outdoor concerts at night. Bea was a foodie even
before that was a popular phrase, always enjoying new and familiar restaurants with
friends and family. She cherished each shopping excursion, looking for the most stylish
clothes and always being in vogue. More than anything Bea enjoyed being the
matriarch and spending time with her extended family. In 2022 she finally made the
move to New Jersey to be closer to family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Heshie Fund, her siblings Sylvia Milstein,
Miriam Haber and Evelyn Bloom and her parents, Samuel and Anna Sheletsky.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Ellen Haber, Leslie Milstein, Robin Potter,
Meryl Goldstein (Paul), Andrew Bloom (Cheryl) and Richard Bloom (Debby), her great-
nieces and nephews, Jackson Potter, Aimee Potter, Jesse Goldstein (Melissa), Kyle
Goldstein, Justin Bloom, Jordan Bloom, Emily Bloom and Sophia Bloom and great
great-nieces.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Mount Carmel Cemetery 83-45 Cypress Hills
