Obituary of Pearl Stein
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pearl Stein, who left us on February 22, 2025, at the age of 94. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Pearl lived a life filled with love and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Born on February 28, 1930, in Bronx, NY, Pearl spent her early years in New York City, which she loved exploring and finding the best Charlotte Russe. She married the love of her life, Herman Roy Stein, in 1949 and later gave birth to two wonderful daughters. They moved to Old Bridge, NJ, in 1960 and then to Jackson, NJ, in 1989. Pearl enjoyed knitting and needlepoint, making many fabulous blankets, coats, hats, and pictures. She was also an avid world traveler and collector of antiques.
Pearl is survived by her daughter, Robin Costantino, sister, Linda Kaplan, son-in-law Robert (Elizabeth) Markell, grandchildren, Geoffrey (Alison) Rosenblat, Zachary (Kaitlyn) Markell, Jonathan Markell, and Brandon (Courtney) Markell, great-grandchildren, Robert, Emily, Zeke, and Chloe, several nieces and nephews, and friends who all cherished her. She is predeceased by her husband, Roy, daughter, Debra Markell, and sister, Elaine Sussman.
Funeral services will be held on February 26 at 11:30 am at New Montefiore Cemetary in West Babylon, NY. All are welcome to join in honoring her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Huntington's Disease Society of America in Pearl's name. May her memory be a blessing.
