Obituary of Murry Opatosky

Murry Opatosky passed away on April 2, 2017. He was born in New York City on July 11, 1923. He was a salesman and owned Hansen Food Service for many years. He later worked as a toll collector for the New Jersey Highway Authority. Murry served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was a life member and four term commander of the Jewish War Veterans Post 125, Commander Monmouth-Ocean County Council Jewish War Veterans, Life member American Legion Post 24, Life member Disabled American Veterans, Chairman Veterans Facility Council NJ Veterans Memorial Home, Board Chairman of General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, and Chairman Monmouth County Veterans Interment. He was a member of Temple Beth Torah serving on the Board of Trustees and Board of the Men’s Club. He was a Board Member of the Jewish Community Center, Deal, NJ, and Member of the Monmouth County Council Jewish National Fund. He was predeceased by his first wife, Annabelle, and second wife, Sandi. He is survived by his son Stephen and wife Sarah, his son Miles and wife Donna, his six grandchildren, Scott, Dustin, Rachel, Sheri, Susan and Robert and two great grandchildren Joseph and Sebastian. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Chabad of The Shore, Long Branch. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood, NJ.
